8th Street Mutt Madness Tail Trail Comes to Fernandina Beach, Presented by First Love Brewing Fernandina Beach, FL

Fernandina Beach Main Street, in partnership with First Love Brewing, is thrilled to announce a new event, the 8th Street Mutt Madness Tail Trail. Sponsored by IQ Fiber and First Port City Bank, with JW Frame Gallery as the Print Sponsor, this event promises a month-long celebration of community spirit and furry companionship. The 8th Street Mutt Madness Tail Trail will run throughout the month of March, culminating in the Mutt Madness After Party on April 7th from 2-4PM at First Love Brewing. Shoppers are invited to participate by picking up cards at participating locations along the 8th Street business corridor. Upon making a minimum purchase of $10, shoppers will have their cards marked by the respective businesses. The more blocks they complete, the more chances they'll have to win exciting prizes!

5th Annual Winter Sip & Shop

Fernandina Beach Main Street will hold its 5th Annual Winter Sip and Shop on Friday, January 19, from 4 to 7 PM. This will kick off Winter Restaurant Week in downtown Fernandina Beach where more than 20 retail shops will remain open late and provide sips of wine to enjoy while shopping. Shoppers will receive a souvenir insulated Main Street wine cup with registration.

Shoppers can check in at the Pocket Park next to Amelia Island Coffee on Centre Street to receive their wine cup, event map, and wristband beginning at 4PM. Participants must be at least 21 years of age and proof of age is required. Tickets are $20 when purchased in advance. Additional tickets can be purchased the day of the event at registration for a price of $25 each. This event will be held rain or shine.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, The Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society will present a panel discussion entitled, "Stories From Our Past - From Segregation to Integration" Neil Frink, who's family was in Fernandina before the city's 1825 incorporation, will serve as a moderator. Joining the panel are four individuals, Wanda Blue, Erving Gilyard, Garry Jones, and Wendy Wells. All of the panelists grew up during the Civil Rights era and represent families that have called Fernandina and Nassau County home for generations.

To celebrate its impending 200th birthday, we are collaborating with local organizations to bring you a series of activities throughout 2024 which culminate with a City-wide party on January 1, 2025. Free to the public, this Victorian holiday festival is sure to enliven your Christmas spirit. Dickens Illuminated Procession

The 4th Annual Dickens Illuminated Procession walking parade kicks off Dickens on Centre, Thursday, December 7th. Participation to march in the procession is free and food is available for purchase from local food trucks.

Participants are encouraged to bring illuminated lanterns or something that shines, glows or twinkles. Only battery operated lights and lanterns will be permitted (no open flames or candles). Show off your holiday spirit and creativity by creating homemade lanterns!

Procession Schedule:

5:00pm: Music, food trucks, and general holiday merriment begins downtown near the Christmas Tree on Front Street

6:00pm: Procession participants gather on Front Street

6:15pm: Procession begins

Parade Route: East on Ash Street, North on 6th Street, and West on Centre Street

6:45pm: An illuminated finale will end the evening fun over the riverfront!

Mark your calendars for the 17th Annual Amelia Island Museum of History Holiday Home Tour. Kick off your holiday season on Amelia Island the first weekend of December!

Don’t Miss out on Fernandina Beach’s most iconic Christmas Event – the Amelia Island Museum of History’s Holiday Home Tour. Carefully curated homes are decorated by the owners with special touches added by local designers. Docents in each home give its history, highlight the period architectural elements, and guide visitors through the homes.

Tickets are $35 until November 28th at 4 p.m., $40 at 4 p.m. and after.

Tickets May be Purchased at the Museum or Online, using the Purchase Tickets button on this page.
If you purchase a ticket online, please bring a copy of your PayPal confirmation to the Will Call table at the Museum the day of the event to receive your paper ticket. This ticket will also include a map of the homes for your convenience.

Exclusive Preview Tour & Catered Event at The Amelia Island Williams House!

The Tickets for the Williams house event will also go on sale October 2nd. This event is on November 30th. Tickets to this event are $100.

The Tour for this event begins at 4:00 PM, with wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks and light hors d’oeuvres beginning at 6 PM. The event takes place at 103 S 9th Street; complete details will be emailed one week before the event.

The Annual Black Friday Pajama Party will once again take place in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach on November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving. Join us for a great day of shopping, music, and fun planned from 8AM until 4PM. Downtown merchants will be open for early shopping in your pajamas.
Many will be offering special discounts and treats to enjoy while you shop.
More information about the much-anticipated Pajama Contest will be updated here later. Last year’s categories included: Best Individual, Best Group, Most Creative, and Best Pet Pajamas.

Cross the Line Veterans Fun Run

Get ready, on Saturday November 11, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. the Cross the Line Foundation in partnership with Ricky Robbins R Boys Hauling and the Amelia Island Running Club, will be hosting our third annual Veterans Day Run.  You will again be able to choose to run either the 5 Kilometer course or the 5 Mile course which extends along the beach.   All runners will start and finish at the Veterans Memorial located on Front Street in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Following the run, at 11:00 a.m., a ceremony honoring our Veterans will be held at the memorial monument.
